Oregon Wild keeps Oregon a special place to live, work and play. We do it by getting out into the field, working with the public and convincing our elected officials to protect the place we call home. We do it so that future generations can enjoy the Oregon we love.
If you camp, hike, raft or fish in Oregon, chances are that Oregon Wild had a hand in saving the forests and rivers that surround you. We have safeguarded nearly 1.5 million acres of public lands as Wilderness; prevented clear-cutting of old-growth forests; and protected almost 1,700 miles of Oregon's rivers.
With the help of the Conservation Alliance, we are working to gain Wilderness protections for an additional 132,000 acres of forestland surrounding Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge.
