Point Reyes Phillip Burton Wilderness Hike

The Phillip Burton Wilderness of Point Reyes is the backyard wilderness for the Bay Area. This coastal wilderness, layered with Douglas fir and bishop pine, provides habitat for the once nearly extinct tule elk. We will be visiting Alamere Falls, one of two tide falls on the California Coast. This 9 mile out and back hike hugs the coast and meanders past Bass Lake and to Alamere Falls, which cascade on to the sand and in to the ocean.
